I bought the dress brand new from Frew's Bridal in Illinois through their website, Best Bridal Prices. By the time the wedding came around, I had lost quite a bit of weight and needed serious alterations. I made the mistake of going to a seamstress with not a lot of experience altering wedding dresses. She altered it to be too short for me and the dress could not be let down due to the way she altered it. I had to buy a new dress 5 days before my wedding, so I am just trying to recover some of the money I lost. This dress would work for a shorter bride.
When she hemmed it, the took the material from the thigh/knee area and not the bottom of the dress. So the bottom of the dress is still original but there is a small seam near the mid-thigh across the front of the dress. The lace is not exactly matched up, meaning there is a change in lace pattern where the seam is (right where my fingertips fall in the first picture.)
